Architecture, Interior Design & Procurement management. Savile Row were commissioned to recreate the grandeur of this once renown hotel in Vilanculos Mozambique. Our design inspiration for this project was drawn from the Hotel´s original Art Deco Architecture, a blend of Mozambican and Portuguese culture interwoven with the wonderful local history of "Senhor Alves" and his lover "Dona Ana". This project showcase´s Savile Row´s holistic approach, where our two disciplines of Architecture and Interior Design unite to create a unique hospitality project. Working within the contraints of what was an old Art Deco building, we remodelled the interior spaces and extended the hotel with a new larger bar, covered terrace, presidential suite, plus feature pool with pool bar. Extensive back of house facilities and services, had to be constructed in order to provide the services and modern amenities, travellers expect of a first class hotel. A new harbour access road was constructed, which allowed us to transform what was an old service road in front of the hotel, into a private beach and promenade. Plans are in process for a conference facility, 50 new bedrooms, and fractional sale villas that will be serviced by the Hotel.
